Oklahoma PTA Certification and Licensing

Upon graduating from a CAPTE-approved program, aspiring Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in Oklahoma must secure a license from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure & Supervision.

This involves successfully passing both a  state jurisprudence exam and the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) administered by the US Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT). Ensuring a thorough understanding of local laws and regulations, the State exam is a prerequisite for licensure.

Additionally, candidates may be required to undergo a criminal records check.
