The Partnership for Healthcare Excellence Welcomes New Board Members
Five new members bring expertise in health care quality improvement, patient engagement, coalition building and consumer outreach
September 03, 2008 – Boston, MA – The Partnership for Healthcare Excellence, a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to helping Massachusetts consumers improve the quality of health care they receive, today announced the election of six new Board members: Jack Evjy MD, Robert Haynes, Alan MacDonald, Lucilia Prates and Barbra Rabson.
"We are delighted to welcome these talented individuals to the Board," said Jim Conway, Chairman of the Board and Senior Vice President of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. "The campaign to engage Massachusetts consumers to be more involved in their care is gaining momentum. With their varied experiences and skills, our new board members will help us further expand the reach and scope of the campaign."
Joining the Board of Directors are:
- Jack Evjy, MD – Medical Affairs Advisor, Massachusetts Medical Society and Medical Oncologist working with the Commonwealth Hematology Oncology.
- Robert Haynes – President, Massachusetts AFL-CIO.
- Alan MacDonald – Executive Director, Massachusetts Business Roundtable.
- Lucilia Prates – Director, Massachusetts SMP Program and President, Consumer Quality Council of Health Care for All.
- Barbra Rabson – Executive Director, Massachusetts Health Quality Partners (MHQP).
"Engaged and involved patients get better health care and have better health," said Board member Zoila Torres Feldman. "The Partnership has made significant progress in its campaign in just one year and I look forward to working with the new members of the Board to build upon our success to date."
The new Board members join Zoila Torres Feldman, Executive Director of Kit Clark Centers; Howard Koh, MD, Harvard School of Public Health, and Peter Meade, Rasky Strategic Communications.
